As the Vietnamese delegation joined in the thematic discussion session "Nuclear energy solutions for ASEAN countries", Mr. Thanh called Russia an important partner in developing nuclear energy in Vietnam.

“Nuclear energy is a new field, so cooperation with Russia is the right thing to do. However, there remain many challenges and issues that need to be addressed, in which the project implementation system in Vietnam has not yet complied with international standards. Therefore, nuclear projects need to comply with international standards to ensure safety,” he said.

Professor, Academician Le Truong Giang, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, was one of the speakers at the discussion session “International Ecosystem: Integration into a Green Future”. The Vietnamese delegation also attended the discussion session “Lithium-ion battery technology makes life more convenient and accessible”.

On Saturday, on the sidelines of the World Atomic Week in Moscow, Rosatom's overseas power generation unit at the Russian Atomic Energy Corporation and Vietnam's Power Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 signed a memorandum of understanding, laying the foundation for cooperation between the parties within the framework of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant project 1.

The document focuses on updating the feasibility study and site documentation, and expands the cooperation to power grid infrastructure development, logistics, training of specialists and technology transfer.
