Vietnam, Mozambique enhance ties

(VOVworld)- Vietnam and Mozambique have agreed to increase delegation exchange and cooperation at regional and global forums. During his official visit to Mozambique over the past two days, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and his Mozambican counterpart Odemiro Baloi promised to support each other in expanding relations between the South Africa Development Community and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. They agreed to study the possibility of establishing a partnership and sign a memorandum of understanding on trade cooperation.

At a meeting with Minister Minh, Mozambique’s Prime Minister Alberto Vaquina expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in rice cultivation, aquaculture, tertiary and vocational training. Prime Minister Vaquina highly appreciated the outcome of joint ventures between Movitel and Viettel Group of Vietnam, which contributed to his country’s socio-economic development.

On the occasion, Minister Minh attended the inauguration ceremony of the sign post “Ho Chi Minh avenue” at the junction between Ho Chi Minh and Olof Palme avenues in Maputo capital city.
