Allocation of the second package will be based on the experience of the first package of 2.6 billion USD, according to Nguyen Thu Huong, Oxfam senior governance program manager.

“Additional financial aid is vital to prevent workers from plunging into poverty. This second package will target more pandemic-hit individuals to realize the Government’s slogan ‘no one left behind’ in the fight against COVID-19,” Huong said.

The new aid package mainly targets businesses and human resource development. If approved, it is expected to be available between September and December this year.
