(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Government on Tuesday offered 100,000 USD in relief aid to help the Indonesian people recover from their recent earthquakes and tsunami.

Indonesia’s Central Sulawesi province was slammed by two quakes measuring 6.1 and 7.5 magnitude last Friday. A tsunami hit the shores soon after the second quake struck.
1,273 military and police personnel have arrived in Palu City in Central Sulawesi to help evacuate earthquake victims.
Indonesian Defense Forces spokesman Sus Taibur Rahman said in a press statement on Tuesday that an Indonesian warship brought 360 volunteers along with trucks, ambulances, lifting equipment, and supplies to Sulawesi for support activities.
Indonesian National Police spokesman Setyo Wasisto said 500 policemen have been deployed to Palu to secure the city, and 2000 more will be sent to the city and its surrounding areas to enable locals to resume their lives.
