(VOVworld)- The 4^th National Congress of the Vietnam Olympic Committee opened in Hanoi on Sunday. The delegates highlighted the Committee’s contributions to enhancing the Party and State’s management in the sports sector. The Committee has also contributed to promoting the country’s image to the world. Many international sports organizations have recognized Vietnam’s sports development. Hoang Vinh Giang, Vice President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee said: “The Vietnam Olympic Committee has closely coordinated with relevant agencies, sport federations and associations in expanding the sports movement, and improving the quality of some sport categories to the same par with those in Asia and the world. Vietnam is ready to host Asian and international major sports events. The country has prepared sports delegations to attend Sea Games 2013 and 2015, Asiad 2014 and Olympic 2016. The Committee will continue expanding cooperation with other sports delegations and national sports committees”.

Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism was elected President of the Vietnam Olympic Committee in the next five-year term.
