Vietnam on alert for super typhoon Ragasa

(VOVWORLD) -The Prime Minister's official dispatch on Monday directed ministries, sectors, and localities to proactively respond to super storm Ragasa, ensure the safety of people's lives, and minimize property damage.

In the dispatch, the ministers of national defense, public security, agriculture and environment, construction, industry and trade, science and technology, education and training, and health, as well as the chairpersons of the People's Committees of localities from central Quang Ngai northwards, are requested to closely track the storm’s developments and local conditions, review and update response plans, and be fully prepared to deploy measures against the super typhoon with the utmost urgency.

The Ministries of National Defense and Public Security must proactively review plans, make forces and means ready to support localities in evacuation, relocation of residents, and rescue.

The Prime Minister also requested the Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam Television, Vietnam News Agency and other media agencies to increase broadcasting time, report on storm developments, and follow the directions of the Government, the Prime Minister and central and local authorities to proactively take response measures  and instruct people on storm response skills.
