At an event in Singapore on Wednesday, Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Hai Hau highlighted the important role of the VPA in sustaining Vietnam’s peace, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Addressing a similar ceremony in Pretoria, South Africa, Brigadier General Thafeni expressed his respect for the Vietnamese military forces’ achievements in defending Vietnam’s independence, calling them a great encouragement for South Africa and other countries in the fight against racism. Thafeni said that South Africa’s army wants to boost multi-faceted cooperation with the VPA, including training and defense technology transfer.
