The Mekong River province of Ca Mau has hosted a seminar to promote the development of a brand for Vietnamese export rice. Participants at the meeting highlighted the need to develop bigger field models and apply a safe cultivation process at international standards to create more prestige for the Vietnamese product in the international market. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the conference’s organizer, called for diversification of rice products depending on each region’s geographical conditions and production on a larger scale. Every year, Vietnam exports an average of 7 million tons of rice.
