Vietnam ready for 26th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum meeting

(VOVWORLD) -Preparations for protocol, logistics, communications, and medical care for the 26th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF-26) are almost complete, according to a meeting in Hanoi on Monday to prepare for the event.

National Assembly Chairwoman NguyenThi Kim Ngan, who is also APPF Chair for 2017-2018, acknowledged efforts made by relevant agencies, particularly the prompt completion of the draft APPF-26 resolutions. She stressed the significance of APPF-26, calling it a practical action for members in support of the 2017 Da Nang Declaration on Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future.

The event, which will take place in Hanoi between January 18 and 21, discusses cooperation across economics, culture, and sustainable and inclusive development toward the issuance of a joint declaration.

The forum currently gathers 27 members including the US, Australia, Japan, Russia, and Laos. The mechanism directly assists the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
