He made the statement at Friday’s reception for Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Umeda Kunio as they both attended the “Meeting Japan-North Central Region” conference in Nghe An province.

The Japanese diplomat said that the Vietnamese economy has enjoyed sound growth on the back of the Government’s unceasing efforts, adding that Vietnam will grasp current opportunities to become a more developed economy. He also raised several issues which need to be tackled by the Vietnamese authority.

Hue reiterated that Japan is a very important and reliable strategic partner, a leading economic and trade partner, and the largest ODA provider of Vietnam. As the Vietnamese and Japanese economies are complementary to each other, the two countries’ leaders are committed to having a strategy to connect them, he said. The Vietnamese Government is ready to provide optimal conditions for Japanese businesses, particularly those which want to land high-tech investments in the country, he added. Deputy PM Hue said the Vietnamese Government always works to ensure mutual benefits based on the respect of legal regulations and equality.
