Vietnam reports 1 more COVID-19-related death, 6 new cases

(VOVWORLD) - A 61-year-old woman has died of COVID-19 complications, the 21st fatality related to coronavirus in Vietnam, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. 

The Committee also said Friday morning that six new cases have been detected, including a six-year-old boy.

The latest fatality is a woman from Hoa Vang district in Da Nang city. She had a number of underlying medical conditions including type-2 diabetes, hypertension and obesity.

Of the latest cases, three are from Hai Duong province, who all came into contact with patient 867. The remaining three are from Quang Nam province, who are relatives of patient 722.

911 infections have been confirmed in Vietnam since the first case was detected back in January.

Meanwhile, authorities in Hai Duong province have enforced strict social distancing measures in a Hai Duong city for 15 days, starting Friday, after a number of cases were suspected relating to a patient there.
