(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam recorded 170 local COVID-19 cases Friday noon, most of them in HCM city.

151 cases were recorded in HCM city, 10 in Phu Yen, three in Hung Yen, two in Long An and one each in Tra Vinh, Hai Phong, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh.

Bac Giang still leads the case count with more than 5,700 infections, followed by HCM city.

Vietnam has confirmed more than 17,700 infections including 81 fatal cases so far. The country has vaccinated around 3.8 million people.
