Vietnam reports 2 more COVID-19 patients, 964 in total

(VOVWORLD) -The National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control said that on Monday morning Vietnam reported 2 more new COVID-19 patients: one in Hai Duong near Hanoi and one in Quang Nam near Da Nang, Vietnam’s new pandemic epicenter.

Vietnam has to date reported a total of 964 patients. 456 patients have been declared cured. The number of deaths is 24. Most of the deaths in Vietnam are the older adults and people with certain underlying medical conditions.

According to worldometers.info, as of 1 am Monday, the total number of people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus globally was 21,817,682. 772,751 patients died.

The US remains the country most severely affected by the epidemic, with 5,556,632 patients and 173,128 deaths. Other countries with large numbers of COVID-19 patients are Brazil, India, and Russia.
