(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc is on a 5-day visit to the Republic of Korea. Phuc’s official visit, which began on Sunday, has great significance, opening high-level exchange activities between the two countries for this year.

The strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea has seen breakthroughs in all areas recently. The Republic of Korea is Vietnam’s largest foreign investor in number of projects and the third largest in capital value. As of November, 2013, the Republic of Korea had invested in more than 3,500 projects capitalized at nearly 29 billion USD. It is also Vietnam’s second largest donor of official development assistance (ODA), committing 1.2 billion USD between 2012 and 2015. Political ties and defense cooperation have been fruitful.
