Despite acknowledging some progress in Vietnam’s human rights record, the US report continued to provide false information and biased statement on the real situation of human rights in Vietnam. This is detrimental to the promotion of the relationship between the two countries. Nghi said Vietnam hopes that through straight and constructive dialogues like the one on April 12th, both sides will gain an objective and practical view of the human rights situation in each country that will contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and promoting bilateral relations.
