(VOVworld) - An inter-sectoral meeting was held in Hanoi on Friday to review Vietnam’s cooperation within ASEAN in 2015 and set tasks for 2016. Representatives of more than 20 ministries and sectors discussed opportunities and challenges facing Vietnam in ASEAN’s next development phase and shared their opinions on Vietnam’s priorities in its cooperation within ASEAN at national and regional level in the future.

They agreed on 4 key tasks for Vietnam’s cooperation within ASEAN at the regional level, including boosting the implementation of ASEAN Vision until 2025 and master plans of each pillar. They highlighted the importance of implementing existing commitments and solutions on trade liberalization, services, investment, capital, and skilled workers while realizing new commitments in accordance with the open market and economic integration mechanisms.

Participants set out 3 major targets for ASEAN cooperation at the national level in 2016, including accelerating communications activities on the ASEAN Community, adjusting regulations for smoother realization of regional commitments, and improving cooperation among involved Vietnamese ministries and agencies on ASEAN cooperation.
