In recent years, the Vietnam Revolutionary Press has successfully reflected developments of society, created social consensus and trust, and spread a positive message among members of society, said Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications and deputy head of the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Communication and Education Commission.
In Vietnam, there are currently 797 media agencies and 41,000 journalists, 23,000 of whom have been granted official press cards. All told they produce up to 40 million news articles, 20,000 hours of radio and 50,000 hours of television programs annually.
As a key player in the revolutionary press’s development in recent years, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) has undergone significant transformation.
“We have been and will continue to assert ourselves as a key multilingual, multi-platform, and multimedia agency. VOV offers over 10 foreign language radio channels, serving both domestic, ethnic, and overseas Vietnamese communities,” VOV’s President Do Tien Sy said.
In the rapidly evolving media landscape, journalist Nguyen Hong Vinh, former editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan newspaper emphasized that a fundamental requirement for today’s journalists is to closely observe every day life and breathe its spirit into every article, photograph, and film portraying the life of the Vietnamese people in this new era.
"To achieve this, journalists must read extensively, and travel and think critically to leave a lasting impression on the public with their work.”
