(VOVworld) – The week-long Vietnam Seafood Festival 2014 concluded in Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province, on Wednesday.
Themed “Vietnam’s seafood integrates and develops”, the festival linked fishermen nationwide. Policies to develop the sector include a trade promotion program to sustainably develop the central coast’s aqua-culture, the establishment of tuna production chains, Vietnam’s aqua-culture development strategy to 2020, and a project to restructure the sector. Le Van Truc is Vice Chairman of the Phu Yen People's Committee: “All activities created a positive change in public awareness, especially among fishermen. Through the festival, coastal provinces found a common voice in policies and mechanisms to jointly tap their advantages”.

More than 11,000 domestic and foreign visitors participated in the festival and related activities, which included an exhibit of maps and documents about the Spratly and Paracel archipelagoes and a week-long expo of films and books about Vietnam’s sea and aqua-culture.
