Vietnam sees sharp increase in visitors during Lunar New Year holiday

(VOVWORLD) -During the seven-day Lunar New Year holiday (Tet), Vietnam’s tourism industry served 10.5 million domestic tourists, up 16.6% over the same period from last year, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).
The number of international visitors rose sharply in many localities, of which, Da Nang is estimated to welcome nearly 177,000 arrivals and Hanoi is estimated to welcome nearly 103,000 visitors, an increase of 2.2 times compared to the same period last year.
According to the VNAT, the increase in the number of foreign visitors can be attributed to favorable visa policies, proper market exploitation, and efforts of businesses and localities, as well as effective promotion activities.
