Mr. Dam, Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, told a meeting on Thursday that the coronavirus continues to spread worldwide, while Vietnam is preparing to celebrate the Lunar New Year next month.

He urged the public to follow recommendations, including wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, keeping distance, avoiding big gatherings, and making health declarations.

Deputy Prime Minister Dam said: “The Prime Minister asks to ensure ultimate safety for flights from abroad. The army, the Ministry of Health, Transport, and Foreign Affairs need to review the capability and safety of quarantine sites. If safety is ensured, we can continue to bring overseas Vietnamese home.”
