Vietnam, Tanzania seek to increase bilateral trade to 1 billion USD

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has called on Vietnam and Tanzania to work harder to achieve bilateral trade turnover of 1 billion USD set by the two countries’ leaders.

At a reception for a visiting Tanzanian delegation including Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Charles Mwijage and Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries Charles Tizeba in Hanoi on Wednesday, the Prime Minister said Vietnam considers Tanzania its potential partner in Africa. He added the Vietnamese government will inform the business circle of Tanzania’s export processing zones and special economic zones for investment consideration. Prime Minister Phuc called for effort to promptly finalize and sign the Agreement on Double Taxation Avoidance and the Agreement on Investment Encouragement and Protection.

Minister Mwijage said that Tanzania is implementing national industrialization to become a middle-income nation by 2025, calling on Vietnamese businesses to invest in garment, leather footwear, vegetable oil, cement, petro-chemistry, industrial zones, and special economic zones.
