(VOVworld) – Comprehensive cooperation with Thailand, particularly in defense, is one of Vietnam’s priorities, said Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich at a meeting with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha on Wednesday.

General Lich said the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand is developing in a comprehensive and effective way, adding that Vietnam will continue to work closely with the Thai Defense Ministry. He said he hopes Prime Minister Chan-ocha will create favorable conditions for bilateral defense relations.
PM Prayut Chan-ocha said Vietnam and Thailand are neighboring countries with good relations and high mutual trust, while their bilateral ties are developing across the fields, including in defense. He promised to support and create favorable conditions to boost bilateral defense cooperation. He said he will ask relevant agencies to enhance cooperation with Vietnam fishermen based on international laws.
On Wednesday morning, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan and General Lich discussed cooperation between the two sides.
