(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will shorten centralized quarantine time for fully vaccinated entrants from 21 days to 7.
Under a Heath Ministry decision, the pilot scheme will be implemented in the northern province of Quang Ninh for one month before further steps are taken as part of Vietnam's plan to trial the use of vaccine passports.
To benefit from the policy, entrants must show a certificate of full inoculation with vaccines approved either by the World Health Organization, the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the European Medicines Agency, or Vietnamese authorities. The final shot must have been given between 14 days and 12 months prior to the date of entry.
The policy also applies to people who have recovered from COVID-19 and tested negative to coronavirus before entry. The discharge date must be within the 12 months prior to the date of entry.
All will have to take another 7 days in self-isolation.
