Vietnam to put two new undersea cable routes into operation

(VOVWORLD) - The Military Telecommunications Group, Viettel said that the Asia Direct Cable (ADC) route has reached the shore and is expected to be put into operation in Q3 this year.

ADC is an undersea fiber optic cable 9,800km long, using modern transmission technology. It connects Asia and Pacific countries and territories with a total initial investment of 290 million USD.

The Southeast Asia-Japan 2 (SJC2) undersea fiber optic cable system will also be put into operation this year. The 10,500 km cable route connects nine Asian countries with 11 landing stations, including one in Quy Nhon city, Vietnam.

Vietnam is experiencing a serious Internet connection problem as fourof its five marine cables are broken. It is expected that by the end of April, three of the cable routes will be repaired.
