(VOVWORLD) - At the end of Thursday, Vietnam stood atop the medal tally at SEA Games 31, having secured 153 gold, 91 silver and 84 bronze medals. Thailand stood second with 53 gold medals, followed by the Philippines and Indonesia.

The Vietnamese delegation won 28 more gold medals on Thursday, including the medal won by Hoang Nguyen Thanh - the first Vietnamese ever to win the men’s marathon at SEA Games - and golds in the men’s and women’s 20km walk won by Vo Xuan Vinh and Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc.
