Vietnam treasures its special relationship with Cuba

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Party, State and people treasure and want to deepen their special friendship and comprehensive cooperation with their Cuban counterparts, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President Nguyen Phu Trong said during a phone conversation on Wednesday with First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) Central Committee Raul Castro.

The two leaders exchanged views on the two Parties and States and the Vietnam-Cuba special relationship, and discussed ways to further promote the relationship as the two nations celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties on December 2. Mr. Trong said the special friendship between the two Parties and nations, begun by President Ho Chi Minh and President Fidel Castro, is a valuable asset and a symbol of the era.

Mr. Castro said that Cuba’s Party, State and people will do their best to preserve, protect, and pass on to future generations the special relationship with Vietnam. He said he believes that the Communist Party of Vietnam will continue to successfully implement the resolutions of the 12th National Party Congress and successfully organize the 13th National Party Congress to achieve the goals of rich people, strong nation, equitable, democratic, and civilized society.
