Vietnam treasures its special ties with Laos- Photo:VGP/Le Son

(VOVworld)- Deputy Prime Minister and the President of Vietnam-Lao Cooperation Committee Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a courtesy visit to Lao Party General Secretary and President Choummaly Saynhasone on Wednesday. At the meeting, the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister said Vietnam always treasures and gives high priority to its special friendship with Laos. The two sides discussed a number of cooperative projects and ways to strengthen bilateral ties, agreed to maintain regular exchanges of senior leaders, theory and practices between the two Parties, accelerate joint strategic projects on transportation and energy, and promote investment and aid between the two countries. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation between their two legislatures.

The same day, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited General Sisavad Keobounphan, who is former Prime Minister and President of Lao Front for National Construction, and former Lao Parliament Speaker Saman Vinhaketh. Mr. Phuc attended a working session of the Vietnamese Investors’ Association in Laos and met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy.
