In his address, Dung said Vietanm treasured friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with East Timor. He urged the two countries to increase delegation exchanges and enhance cooperation in combating crime, and for criminal judicial support. He asked East Timor to increase bilateral cooperation in the rice trade and implement the MOU on Rice Trade in the 2015-2017 period. Prime Minister De Araujo promised to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to further cooperation in oil and gas exploration and exploitation, and food.

At a meeting on the same, day, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung and Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kala discussed ways to further the Vietnam-Indonesia Strategic Partnership. They agreed to organize the 7th session of the Joint Committee for Economics, Science and Technology Cooperation soon, and bring two-way trade to 10 billion USD by 2018. The Vice President said Indonesia would work with Vietnam and other ASEAN countries to implement the Chairman Statement at the 26th and 27th ASEAN Summits, and urge involved parties to abide by international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea to ensure peace, stability, security, and safety of aviation and navigation in the East Sea. The two sides agreed that all disputes in the East Sea need to be settled by peaceful means, not to use or threaten to use force, and finalize the Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea soon in order to ensure peace and stability in the region.
