Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Cuong

(VOVworld) – Dialogue between ambassadors of countries joining the Transpacific Partnership and Union of New Democratic Party congressmen took place Wednesday in the US. Vietnamese ambassador Nguyen Quoc Cuong stressed that Asia-Pacific region has seen an increase in numbers of signed free trade agreements from 3 in 2000 to 45 in 2010. TPP is considered the most significant one to the region. The ambassador affirmed Vietnam’s high determination in TPP negotiation and asked the US congressmen to continue supporting the US’s granting the Generalized System of Preferences to Vietnam and recognition of Vietnam’s market economy.
