Vietnam, US hold fourth energy security dialogue

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam and the US discussed clean energy technologies such as hydrogen and nuclear energy and plans to accelerate the energy transition to achieve net zero emissions targets by 2050.

During their fourth energy security dialogue in Washington, DC, on Wednesday and Thursday, the two sides looked at bilateral cooperation in clean electricity production, electricity market development, energy conservation, energy efficiency, energy transmission, and energy storage.

The US’s AES Corporation delivered a letter of intent to the Vietnamese delegation about deploying an offshore wind power project in Binh Thuan province with a total cost of 13 billion USD and an expected capacity of 4,000 MW.

The US Trade and Development Agency announced it will provide technical assistance to the National Power Transmission Corporation of Vietnam to accelerate the deployment of smart grid technologies.
