Vietnam, US look to boost comprehensive partnership

(VOVWORLD) - President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, had a working session with US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink in Hanoi on Friday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a cooperation plan between the US Embassy in Vietnam and the VUFO in organising activities towards the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic ties (July 12, 1995 - 2020). They highly valued effective coordination between the two countries in the COVID-19 fight, and confirmed to closely work in arranging activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties, contributing to further promoting the Vietnam – US comprehensive partnership and the friendship between the two countries' people. Ambassador Kritenbrink congratulated Vietnam on its initial success in the fight against COVID-19. Meanwhile, Nga expressed her delight at the bilateral relations' development, and affirmed that the VUFO will coordinate with the US embassy in upcoming anniversary events. She wished the US people soon overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic.
