Vietnam, US seek stronger cooperation between localities

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh and US Congressman Paul Gosar, a Republican representative from Arizona State, have agreed that there is huge potential for cooperation between the two countries, especially in green and renewable energy.

At a meeting with the Vietnamese diplomat on Wednesday, Mr. Gosar, Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources, affirmed that Arizona is willing to boost collaboration with Vietnamese localities in all spheres, including energy, in order to take advantage and promote other’s strengths in technology and resources.

Earlier on Tuesday, Vinh held a reception for US Assistant Secretary of Defence Randall Schriver at the Vietnamese Embassy in the US. The two officials discussed the outlook of bilateral cooperation in 2018, sharing the hope that the two sides would continue to exchange delegations at all levels and further enhance bilateral relations across various fields, including security and defence.
