Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh and Randall Schriver, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs

At the meeting, Mr. Vinh highlighted the outcome of bilateral defense cooperation and asked the US to boost cooperation in overcoming the war aftermaths, dealing with Agent Orange/dioxin contamination, mine clearance, humanitarian aids, and search and rescue and share experience in participating in the UN peacekeeping mission. Mr. Randal Schriver expressed his belief that with the two sides’ efforts, the bilateral defense cooperation will become more practical and effective.
