Chien received Kelly McKeague, Director of the US Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, in Hanoi, on Wednesday, and said McKeague's visit comes on the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam Office for Seeking Missing Persons (VNOSMP) and 35 years of joint operations to search for American servicemembers missing in action.

This is an important milestone in the Vietnam-US cooperation in overcoming the consequences of war, Chien said. He praised the contributions of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency in promoting the relationship between the two countries.

Given the great potential for cooperation between the US and Vietnam, McKeague said the US Government will continue to honor its commitments to addressing war consequences in Viet Nam.
