Vietnam values friendly cooperation with Namibia

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam values friendship and cooperation with Namibia and the two nations’ coordination at United Nations forums, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Quang Hieu said during online talks on Monday with Namibian Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Jenelly Matundu.

Matundu asked Vietnam to share its experience in addressing war aftermath and coordinate in the implementation of the UN Security Council’s Resolution 1325 on women, peace, and security.

Hieu and Matundu agreed to increase visits and meetings between ministries, sectors, localities, and businesses to promote multifaceted partnerships in economy, trade, and investment. They voiced their determination to increase bilateral trade by creating the best possible conditions for their commodities to enter each other’s markets and encouraging their enterprises to seek investment and business opportunities in the other country.

Matundu asked Vietnam to resume the exchange of agricultural experts to help Namibia with rice farming and aquaculture which was begun in 2010. Namibia wants to learn from Vietnam’s experience in building its Diplomatic Academy and promoting the exchange of experts, lecturers, and students, she said.
