The President expressed his hope that American friends would continue to support Vietnam and the growth of bilateral relations. He called on organizations and individuals from both countries to enhance exchanges and contacts in flexible forms, further promote people-to-people diplomacy and cultural exchanges, connect businesses and localities of the two countries, thereby fostering cooperation in key and breakthrough areas such as economy, trade, investment, particularly in science–technology and innovation.

Mr. Cuong also asked American friends and partners to continue supporting and contributing to war legacy remediation, including dioxin-contaminated site clean-up, unexploded ordnance clearance, assistance to victims of Agent Orange/dioxin and bombs and mines, as well as information sharing to accelerate the search and repatriation of remains of missing Vietnamese soldiers. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s strongest commitment to cooperating with the US in the search for and repatriation of remains of American servicemen missing in action (MIA) during the war in Vietnam.

The State President said that Vietnam is a dynamically developing country and a safe, attractive destination for foreign investors. He expressed his hope that American friends and partners would continue to contribute to Vietnam’s development and to the growth of the Vietnam–United States Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
