Vietnam wants families of Lebanon explosion victims to soon stabilize their lives

(VOVWORLD) -Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on Wednesday said Vietnam was deeply saddened by the news of the August 4 explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, which killed many people and injured thousands more.

Vietnam would like to extend its deep condolences to the State, government, and people of Lebanon and the families of the explosion victims. Vietnam hopes that the State, government, and people of Lebanon and families of the victims will soon overcome this great loss and stabilize their lives, the spokesperson said.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and Lebanon is strengthening citizen protection as one Vietnamese was injured in the explosion. 

Ambassador to Egypt and Lebanon Tran Thanh Cong said approximately 50 Vietnamese live in Lebanon, mostly in Beirut. He told VOV: “We quickly reviewed the number of Vietnamese nationals affected by the blast to come up with citizen protection measures if necessary. We contacted the Lebanese Government and Foreign Ministry and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Beirut to closely follow the Vietnamese community there and offer them sympathy and support. I will be in Lebanon to directly handle emergency cases if there is any.”
