Receiving former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak in Hanoi on Wednesday, President Phuc reiterated Vietnam’s intention to cooperate with Israel in areas where Israel has strengths like innovation, science and technology, and renewable energy. He suggested the two countries maintain high-level contacts and support each other at international forums and organizations, and boost commercial cooperation.

He added that as Vietnam is implementing a policy of building and sustainably developing a digital society to 2025, with a vision to 2030 along with ensuring security and "national sovereignty in cyberspace", Vietnam looks forward to learning from Israel's experience in this area.

Mr. Barak described education as the key to Israel's success and said there are incubators for talent discovery. He said Israel is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to jointly celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2023.
