The Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore marks a milestone as Vietnam fully opens its doors to international visitors, said Nguyen Thi Kim Nga, Deputy Director of Noi Bai International Airport.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said the country had resumed services to foreign tourists from March 15, noting that domestic airlines had geared up for the restoration.

Travel businesses have recommended that regulations on medical quarantine and testing be scrapped as stringent regulations make it hard for them to approach international holidaymakers who would choose other countries with relaxed procedures.

The same day, the Government agreed to reinstate pre-pandemic entry and exit procedures for foreigners and overseas Vietnamese from March 15.
It also agreed to resume the visa waiver policy for citizens from 13 countries: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Norway, Finland, Belarus, and Sweden.
