Vietnam welcomes investment capital from international partners
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam considers the UK an important and friendly partner as he received UK Secretary of State for International Trade Elizabeth Truss.

Given their traditional cooperation, Vietnam and the UK need to sign a bilateral free trade agreement soon to boost two-way trade turnover, the Prime Minister said, adding that Vietnam has supported the UK to join the CPTPP Agreement and always supports free trade. The Vietnamese government is committed to creating all favorable conditions for British businesses to invest successfully in Vietnam, said Mr. Phuc.
The Prime Minister said the two countries have potential for green energy development and suggested the UK support Vietnam in this important field.
Also on Friday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Kitaoka Shinichi. He emphasized that the Vietnam-Japan friendship and cooperation is flourishing with Japan being the most important economic partner of Vietnam and the largest provider of ODA and bilateral concessional loans.
The Prime Minister pledged favorable conditions for Japanese businesses’ success in Vietnam and called on JICA to continue cooperation and support for Vietnam in its national development. The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is ready to welcome the decoupling of Japanese investment to Vietnam. He said he believes that as soon as the COVID-19 epidemic is contained, this relationship will develop stronger.
