Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed the need to control inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, and work towards 3 strategic goals, which include finalizing socialist-oriented market economy institutions, developing human resources, and building a coordinated infrastructure system. He said priority should be given to social and cultural development, social fairness and welfare, healthcare, education, sustainable poverty reduction, and new rural development. He asked ministries and localities to focus on simplifying administrative procedures, improving the business environment, applying technological advances, improving the effectiveness of external relations, and boosting international integration, modernization, and industrialization.
