Vietnam works for green, sustainable energy development

(VOVWORLD) - International experts put forward recommendations for Vietnam’s sustainable energy development and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions at the 2nd high-level meeting of the Vietnam Energy Partnership Group (VEPG) in Hanoi on Monday.

The group discussed 5 high-priority fields: renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy sector reform, energy access, and energy data and statistics.

Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Dang Hoang An, Head of the EU delegation Bruno Angelet, and World Bank (WB) Country Director for Vietnam Ousmane Dione endorsed the recommendations.

“The consistent policy of the state and our Ministry is to encourage the development of renewable energy. We are directing the re-planning of electricity development in localities in addition to national electricity development planning and assigning the agencies who will be responsible for removing the congestion in grid infrastructure,” Deputy Minister An said.
