Vietnam-China insist on developing a comprehensive strategic partnership

(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy in China hosted a party to mark the 64th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the 2 nations.

Ambassador Nguyen Van Tho said on Thursday that despite of regional and global developments which have sizable impacts on both countries, Vietnam always attaches importance to developing a comprehensive strategic partnership with China. Vietnam considers it a top priority in its unswerving external relations policy. Mr. Tho expressed his hope that with both countries’ efforts, the Vietnam-China partnership will steadily grow in the right direction. "We are glad to see achievements in the Vietnam-China relationship. China has been Vietnam’s biggest partner for 9 years with trade turnover of 50 billion USD in 2013. Leaders of both countries have reached many agreements, and an awareness consensus. These are significant results which orient the two countries’ future relationship."

Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Liu Zhenmin spoke at the event. "China pays special attention to developing relations with Vietnam and places Vietnam in an important position. China will together with Vietnam uphold the common awareness of the two countries’ leaders , maintain high-level visits, enhance cooperation in all sectors, appropriately handle East Sea issues, enhance bilateral relations sustainably, and build prosperity for their people."

The Vietnamese Embassy also met with Chinese and Vietnamese reporters to introduce them to major contents of future bilateral relations and orientations.
