Vietnam-Denmark work towards a comprehensive partnership

(VOVworld) – Queen Margrethe II of Denmark held a banquet for Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang at Fredenborg Palace on Wednesday.

Speaking at the event, the two leaders highlighted the Vietnam-Denmark friendship which has been nurtured over the past 40 years, and committed to elevating the relationship to a new level towards a comprehensive partnership for the interests of their people. Queen Margrethe pledged that Denmark will continue to support Vietnam because of their relationship and Vietnam’s continuous growth and improved global status. She said the Danish government and businesses want to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in all areas for sustainable growth. The Queen said the two sides are making their way towards a comprehensive partnership, which will open a new chapter in bilateral ties.

President Sang expressed his delight to be the first Vietnamese President to visit Denmark. He said the Vietnam-Denmark relationship has stood the test of time to rapidly expand in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education, and culture. The two countries’ regular high-level visits, many cooperative agreements, and cultural exchanges are vivid evidence for the flourishing relations. These are a firm basis for the two countries to raise their bilateral ties to a comprehensive partnership.

The same day, President Sang and his wife met with the Vietnamese Embassy staff and some of the Vietnamese people living and working in Denmark.
