Vietnamese business woman listed world’s 44th most powerful
(VOVWORLD) -The US Forbes Magazine has listed the 100 powerful women in the world, including Vietnamese business woman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. Thao was ranked the 44th, up 11 notches from last year.

Forbes estimates the Vietnamese female billionaire’s asset is about 2.6 billion USD, higher 1.98 billion USD of last year. Thao is chairperson of Sovico Holdings, vice president and CEO of Vietjet Air, as well as standing vice chairperson of HDBank. She is the second richest in the Vietnam’s stock market, after Pham Nhat Vuong, President of Vingroup. Topping this year’s list is German Chancellor Angela Merkel, followed by British Prime Minister Theresa May, and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde. Forbes annual ranking is based on asset quality, media exposure, segment and international influence.
