Vietnamese citizens urged to leave Lebanon

(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and Lebanon on Monday urged Vietnamese citizens living and working in Lebanon to leave the country while commercial flights remain operating amid dangerous conflict escalation in the region.

In an urgent notice, the Embassy also advised citizens planning to go to Lebanon to halt or cancel their trips until the situation stabilizes.

For citizens living and working in Lebanon, the Embassy emphasizes that in case of force majeure, they cannot leave Lebanon, they need to increase vigilance, closely monitor developments on local mass media, and refrain from gatherings in crowded places. They should not go near the Lebanon-Israel border, the south of the capital Beirut and the northern area near the border with Syria, according to the notice.

The Embassy recommends that people find temporary shelter in safer areas and have a plan to store food and medicine in case of bad situations.

The Embassy continues to monitor and keep in close contact with people to prepare contingency plans. It is ready to coordinate with relevant agencies if necessary to evacuate or protect citizens from Lebanon.
