Vietnamese, Czech PMs co-chair business forum

(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Czech Republic‘s Industry Confederation jointly organized the Czech-Vietnam Business Forum in Prague on Wednesday during Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to the Czech Republic.

Addressing the event attended by more than 100 businesspeople, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis said he hopes the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement will be signed soon before the EU Council’s election to pave the way for trade development and EU and Czech investment flow into Vietnam. He also called on both countries to boost imports and exports of goods.

Co-chairing the forum, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam and the Czech Republic have economic advantages and potentials to further bilateral cooperation. He added Vietnam has a stable political environment, a tropical agriculture, and a developing processing industry. Vietnam has signed and implemented 12 free trade agreements and is working with the EU to sign and ratify the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, an important foundation to boost trade with the EU, including the Czech Republic.
