(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Embassy in Laos on Friday hosted a banquet to celebrate the Vietnamese Lunar New Year 2024.

Attending the reception were Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Chansamone Chanyalath, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Vilay Lakhamphong, and representatives of ministries, departments, sectors, and localities of Laos.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung said that in recent years Vietnam and Laos have overcome many difficulties to achieve important results in politics, economics, society, security, and defense. The two countries' position and prestige in the international arena have grown steadily.

Following the success of the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Year of Solidarity and Friendship in 2022, the special friendly relationship between the two countries has been strengthened. The Ambassador expressed his belief that Laos will successfully hosting ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024.
Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Chansamone Chanyalath expressed praised the great friendship between the two countries and Vietnam's support for Laos in all fields. He believed that the bilateral relationship will constantly be improved, bringing practical benefits to their peoples.
