(VOVworld) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Saudi Arabia held a memorial service for General Vo Nguyen Giap in Riyadh on October 13th and 14th. Speaking to Embassy staff, representatives of the Vietnamese community, and Saudi Arabian guests, Ambassador Nguyen Tuyen highlighted General Giap’s great contributions to the cause of national liberation and reconstruction.
Many Vietnamese people living hundreds of km far away from Riyadh also attended the ceremony. Although it was during the New Year holiday of the Muslim people, ambassadors and charge d’affaires from many countries such as Canada, Peru, Cuba, Myanmar, India, and Serbia also came to pay tribute to General Giap.
