(VOVWORLD) - Outstanding Vietnamese films are being introduced at the 21st Vietnam Film Festival which opened Saturday in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
The festival received 74 entries of four categories: feature films, documentaries, science films, and animated films. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, head of the organizing board, said: "This year’s entries reflect Vietnamese people’s thoughts, emotions, and aspiration to move forward. They also honor the inner beauty of Vietnamese people."
The film festival will feature an exhibition entitled “Vietnamese seas and islands on cinema”, a film week in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, a seminar on improving Vietnamese films amid international integration, and free screenings at local cinemas.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
